2018
Racing Point Force India entered a financial crisis and was acquired by a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll, the father of driver Lance Stroll. The team changed its name to Racing Point, preserving its structure and staff.
2019
Racing Point held onto fourth place in the constructors' championship, behind Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull. Drivers Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll contributed consistent points throughout the season.
2020
Racing Point designed a car similar to the 2019 Mercedes and received a fine and a points penalty for breaching FIA regulations. Despite this, the team achieved fourth place in the constructors' championship, behind only Mercedes, Red Bull and McLaren.
2021
Aston Martin Racing debuted in Formula 1 with a new name and makeover. Drivers Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel, former world champion, led the team. Despite a difficult start, the team achieved fifth place in the constructors' championship.
2022
Aston Martin signed Spanish driver Fernando Alonso, who scored the team's second ever podium finish at the season-opening Grand Prix in Bahrain[2]. The team continues to compete in Formula 1, with the ambition of improving its position in the constructors' championship. Aston Martin returned to Formula 1 in 2021 after its last participation in 1960. In 2018, the team was under the name of Racing Point, while in 2022 the hiring of Fernando Alonso as pilot. Since then, Aston Martin has been working hard to improve its position in the constructors' championship.
2023
In the 2023 Formula 1 season, Aston Martin made remarkable progress, becoming one of the most competitive teams in the midfield. With the debut of its new car, the AMR23, the team demonstrated impressive performance, especially in the first races, where Fernando Alonso achieved several podiums. The Spaniard, alongside Lance Stroll, became an important pillar of the team, standing out for his experience and skill. Despite some ups and downs throughout the year, Aston Martin consolidated its place as a strong contender, fighting for fourth place in the Constructors' Championship. However, the team was unable to keep up with the bigger teams such as Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.
2024
In the 2024 Formula 1 season, Aston Martin failed to repeat the success of 2023, finishing fifth in the Constructors' Championship with 94 points, a notable drop from 280 points the previous year. The AMR24 car used did not score any podium finishes, with Fernando Alonso being the main contributor to the team's points total. Despite initial expectations, the car's performance declined after a promising start, marred by technical issues and difficulties in implementing effective upgrades. Fernando Alonso was optimistic about the future, highlighting the addition of engineer Adrian Newey to the team and internal restructuring as steps towards greater competitiveness in the coming seasons.
