Oscar Piastri born on April 6, 2001 in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to beginning his professional motorsport career, Piastri displayed an exceptional interest and passion for motorsports from an early age.

As he grew older, his passion for racing became more and more evident, and Oscar began to participate in karting competitions in his native country. He quickly excelled in karting at the local and national level, displaying great talent on the track and gaining valuable experience in competition. Piastri's success in karting led him to take the next step in his career and move into the single-seater series. In 2017, he made his single-seater debut in the New South Wales Single-Seater Championship, where he began to gain experience driving bigger and more powerful racing cars. Piastri's real break came in 2018 when he entered Australian Formula 4, a series that allowed him to compete at a national level and showcase his single-seater racing skills to a wider audience. During this season, he demonstrated his prowess behind the wheel by taking several wins and podium finishes, drawing the attention of the motoring community. His success in Australian Formula 4 paved the way for Oscar Piastri to continue his rise in international motorsport. In 2019, he joined the R-ace GP team to compete in the Formula Renault Eurocup, a category known for being a springboard for young talent.

2021

Oscar Piastri took a crucial step in his career when he was signed by the Alpine team as a development driver in the 2021 Formula 1 season. Although he did not participate in official races, his role as a development driver allowed him to immerse himself in the world of Formula 1 and work closely with the team to learn about the technical and operational aspects of the category. During his time as a development driver, Piastri had the opportunity to participate in young driver tests and Friday practice sessions at some Grands Prix. These experiences gave him valuable track time and allowed him to adjust to the speed and complexity of Formula 1 cars.

2022

Oscar Piastri made his official Formula 1 debut as a starting driver for the Alfa Romeo Racing team. This opportunity marked a significant milestone in his career, as he went from being a development driver to competing against the best drivers in the world in the premier class of motorsport. Piastri's 2022 season at Alfa Romeo Racing was marked by his adaptation to the team and the new competitive environment. Piastri earned his first podium at the Italian Grand Prix, cementing his reputation as a promising driver in the sport. 2024

Oscar Piastri had a standout 2024 Formula 1 season with McLaren. He started the year with an eighth-place finish in Bahrain and took back-to-back podium finishes in Saudi Arabia and Australia. His first win came at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he led much of the race and received support from teammate Lando Norris. He then won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after overtaking Charles Leclerc. Throughout the season, he racked up eight podiums and finished fourth in the Drivers’ Championship. These performances contributed to McLaren’s first Constructors’ title since 1998. In addition, Piastri completed 29 of the 30 races in points, highlighting his consistency. At the end of the season, he expressed his ambition to become world champion, considering it an achievable goal with the right team.
