Franco Colapinto was born on May 27, 2003, in Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his career in karting and quickly rose to prominence in Europe, winning the Euroformula Open in 2019. Franco Colapinto made his debut in the top category in September 2024, when he replaced Logan Sargeant for the Williams team at the Italian Grand Prix. He finished 12th in that race, standing out for his ability to overtake and defend track positions. During the 2024 season, Colapinto competed in nine Grands Prix with Williams, scoring five points in total. His best result was an eighth place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Furthermore, at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, he reached a top speed of 356.4 km/h, the highest recorded in the 2024 season, surpassing drivers such as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. In January 2025, Colapinto joined Alpine as a test and reserve driver.
