2005
Red Bull Racing bought the Jaguar Racing team and raced its first car, the RB1. The team focused on developing its car and adapting to the new environment of Formula 1. David Coulthard was the main driver for the team, accompanied by Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi as test drivers.
2006
It competed with the RB2, with which Coulthard and Klien achieved modest results. In the middle of the season, the team hired Robert Doornbos as test driver, and the team improved its performance in the final races of the season.

The team dominated the first two races, with Verstappen winning, but faced problems at the Australian Grand Prix due to a brake failure that led to his retirement. At the Chinese Grand Prix, Red Bull took its 100th pole position, with Verstappen at the wheel. Midway through the season, the team experienced a decline in performance, allowing rivals such as McLaren and Ferrari to close the competitive gap.
