Design and Features

  • Yas Marina is one of the few Formula 1 tracks that is driven counterclockwise.
  • Before the 2021 modifications, the circuit was notable for its 1.2-kilometer straight connecting Turns 7 and 8.
  • The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the only event of the season that starts in daylight and finishes at night.
  • The circuit is home to the world's fastest roller coaster, and the Yas Waterworld water park is located just beyond the track.
  • A longer pit stop means more lost time, forcing teams to manage their pit stops with great precision.
