Pierre Gasly was born on February 7, 1996 in Rouen, France. From an early age, Gasly showed great interest and talent in the world of motorsport, inspired by his family, who were involved in the sport. He began his karting career at a young age and quickly demonstrated his ability on the track.
Gasly progressed in his karting career and won several national and international championships in France and Europe. His successes in karting led to his leap into the single-seater series, where he would continue to demonstrate his prowess as a driver. In 2011, Pierre Gasly made his single-seater debut competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. Despite his inexperience in single-seaters, he showed promising performance and quickly drew attention in the motorsport world. As the seasons progressed, Gasly continued to climb the single-seater categories, taking part in championships such as the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and Formula Renault 3.5. His success in the single-seater categories brought him to the attention of Red Bull, the team's young driver programme. In 2014, Gasly became a Red Bull junior driver and began racing in the GP2 Series (now known as Formula 2). During his time in GP2, Gasly showed his ability to race at a highly competitive level, taking several wins and podium finishes.
2017
Pierre Gasly made his Formula 1 debut in the 2017 season with the Scuderia Toro Rosso team. He was called up to replace Daniil Kvyat at the Malaysian Grand Prix, marking his surprisingly early debut in the series. Despite the circumstances, Gasly showed his ability to quickly adapt to the car and the team, although he failed to score points in his first race.
2018
Pierre Gasly has been confirmed as Scuderia Toro Rosso's starting driver for the entire season. During his first full season in Formula 1, Gasly showed his skill and consistency by scoring points in several races. His standout performance came at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he finished in fourth place, earning his first points and demonstrating his potential in the category.
2019
Following his successful season with Toro Rosso, Pierre Gasly was promoted to Red Bull's main team, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, for the 2019 season. However, the transition was not an easy one, with Gasly finding it difficult to adjust to the new car and to the team. Despite some outstanding performances, he fell short of the expected results and faced pressure to compete alongside his teammate Max Verstappen. Due to his uneven performance at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Gasly was replaced by Alexander Albon in the team mid-season. As a result, he returned to Scuderia Toro Rosso (later to become Scuderia AlphaTauri) for the last nine races of the season. Despite his comeback, he continued to display his talent and earned his first Formula 1 podium finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where he finished in second place.
2020
In this season, Pierre Gasly was confirmed as the starting driver for Scuderia AlphaTauri (formerly Toro Rosso). During this season, Gasly demonstrated a significant improvement in his performance and consistency. The pinnacle moment for him came at the Italian Grand Prix, where he scored an impressive victory under exceptional circumstances. This victory at Monza made him the first French driver to win a Formula 1 race since 1996.
2021
Pierre Gasly continued his career with Scuderia AlphaTauri in the 2021 season. Despite not repeating his victory in 2020, he showed a solid and consistent performance. He scored points in several races and demonstrated his ability to compete in the middle of the grid. He excelled at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where he finished in third place and scored his second Formula 1 podium finish.
2022
To the current date, Pierre Gasly continues to race with Scuderia AlphaTauri in the 2022 season. He has continued to demonstrate his ability on track and his commitment to the team. Although he has not achieved another podium thus far, his focus on development and his consistent performance make him a valuable driver for the team. Pierre Gasly's career in Formula 1 until 2022 has been a journey of ups and downs, but his determination, skill and dedication have made him a respected competitor in the series, with the promise of more achievements and victories to come.
2023
Pierre Gasly made his debut with Alpine in the 2023 season after leaving AlphaTauri, partnering Esteban Ocon. He faced initial difficulties due to the lack of performance and reliability of the A523 car. Despite the team's problems, he managed to score points in several races, highlighting his consistency. His best result of the season was a third place at the Dutch Grand Prix, securing an important podium. He had several intense duels on track with his teammate Ocon, reflecting the internal competitiveness at Alpine. He finished the season with 62 points, finishing in 11th position in the Drivers' Championship. His performance helped Alpine secure sixth place in the Constructors' Championship, although the team had hoped for better results.
2024
Pierre Gasly faced a challenging and high-profile 2024 Formula 1 season with the Alpine team. The first Grands Prix were difficult due to the car's lack of competitiveness, scoring his first point in Monaco by finishing tenth. He then managed to score points in Canada and Spain with ninth places. Before the Austrian Grand Prix, Alpine announced the renewal of his contract for several years, showing confidence in his potential. In Brazil, under adverse weather conditions, Gasly reached the podium by finishing third, behind his teammate Esteban Ocon, which boosted the team in the constructors' standings. Despite some retirements, he finished the season in tenth position in the drivers' championship with 42 points, contributing to Alpine's sixth place in the constructors' championship. In addition, he stood out for his consistency by not causing significant damage to the car throughout the season, being the only driver to achieve this.
